rooting for native plants is a program sponsored by clean water indiana that encourages local johnson county residents to incorporate native plants into their landscaping

how it works…

  1. Request & receive a landowner survey from Johnson County Native Plant Partnership

  2. Begin the process of removal of invasive species on your property as outlined in the Invasive Species Management Plan written by Johnson County Native Plant Partnership for your property

  3. Each fall, an application will be sent to those that have received a landowner survey to request native plant plugs grown by Franklin College students and Soil & Water staff. We will require photos of your work on the invasive species on your property!

  4. Based on application, location, and photos provided, five landowners will be selected to receive native plants and a yard sign from the program

  5. Soil & Water staff will notify you of pick up times for plants if selected

  6. Plant your plants and take plenty of photos in the spring!

this application is now open for those that have received a landowner survey

Deadline to apply is Sunday, October 1st before 11:59pm
